The Hellenic Tourism Organisation (EOT<.>) has undertaken systematic restructuring efforts over the past nine months as part of the EU Tourism funding programme, EOT general secretary Evgenios Yiannakopoulos asserts.

This endeavor has proven successful. On December 29 last year, EOT, after having received approval from Development Minister Evangelos Venizelos, forwarded Greece`s submission for the Tourism programme, which involves 153,750,000 euros in funding, to the European Commission.

The programme covers marine tourism, alternative forms of tourism such as spa resorts, modernisation of hotel units, specialised infrastructure, services for small- and medium-sized enterprises, information networks and education.
