eRentals.co.uk says UK travellers have caught advance Christmas booking bug

This Christmas will see more and more UK tourists and travellers getting the rental car they want thanks to advance planning and early booking. So says car hire website eRentals.co.uk, which has seen a spike of 38% in advance bookings for Christmas 2011 car rentals.

According to the website many tourists and travellers view car hire as an optional extra to their holiday and often leave their bookings far too late meaning they miss out. This Christmas however lots of Brits are thinking ahead and booking early to increase their chances of getting the vehicle they want at a value for money price.

Brits are booking car hire in all sorts of places this year as they head off to visit friends and family, but the top places according to eRentals.co.uk are Geneva, Heathrow Airport, Lisbon, Faro and Manchester Airport.

Briony Fairbairn, spokesperson for eRentals.co.uk, says: “Too many people in years gone by have waited until the week before Christmas to book rentals, and this is really too late at such a busy time. More and more people appear to be being more organised this year however."

“Christmas means increased demand for vehicles like 4x4s or SUVs as well as for things like child seats and other extras. Advance booking is the key to getting these specific items, and we’re pleased to see more Brits making early reservations this Christmas.”

eRentals.co.uk is a specialist car hire company, providing low cost car rental in over 12,000 locations around the World.  Committed to finding its customers the best prices, eRentals.co.uk offers a quick and easy search of the latest offers, including Majorca car hire and Lanzarote car hire, for a festive escape in the sun.
