Details of a multi-million pound campaign in September aimed at boosting London`s economic recovery are unveiled today .
“Everyone`s London” promises a series of specially-staged public events and one-off promotions backed by The Mayor, Transport for London and Visit London encouraging Londoners to take pride, and part, in the very best that London has to offer.

Opening and closing with street festivals in Regent St and Oxford St respectively, September will see 100+ events, festivals and special days out staged across the capital, including an event to celebrate London hosting the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games event in Trafalgar Square and a unique cultural weekend.

These will be complemented by a series of promotions for Londoners; these include a major Transport for London (TfL) promotional campaign involving the bus, Tube, tram and DLR backed by advertising on and off the transport network over the next 3 months. TfL-backed promotions will include a fantastic offer on the British Airways London Eye, the London Zoo, musicals such as Fame and Saturday Night Fever and restaurants including Bella Pasta.

In addition, the Visit London site will host a special offers section at visitlondon.com updated daily, including hotel rooms from just £41.95 per night, special deals on theatre tickets with pre-theatre dinner from only £19.50, kids-go-free deals at many attractions including The Science Museum`s Imax Cinema and Hitchhiker`s Guide to the Galaxy Exhibition, The London Dungeon, Madame Tussauds, Catamaran Cruisers and Cutty Sark and 2-for-1 deals including Premier Inn Hotels, National Gallery, London Aquarium and Dali Universe.

Unique events planned in September include the beginning of preparations for the London 2012 Games, where Londoners will have the chance to mark the historic victory in Trafalgar Square. Also, over 50 of London`s cultural institutions will stage backstage tours, workshops and one-off offers across the weekend of 17th / 18th under the banner of `The Cultural Revelation`, whilst at the end of the month Oxford St will stage its very own street festival. The Society of London Theatres will also be running a major promotion throughout the month.
Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, said: “Starting on 1 September we will help put the best of the capital on display with 100 great events and offers in `Everyone`s London`. The aim is for seven million Londoners and visitors to London to look at the city`s offerings with new eyes. There is something for absolutely everyone because that`s what this city stands for.”

Visit London, James Bidwell commented: “Visit London is playing a pivotal role in the campaign, celebrating and promoting the amazing array of experiences and events, which happen every day in the capital. `Everyone`s London` will certainly begin to revitalise and reinvigorate London`s visitor economy”.

Peter Hendy, Managing Director of Surface Transport at TfL said, “I am delighted to be backing this campaign on behalf of Transport for London. I would encourage everyone to take advantage of the offers by using public transport, which will give both discounts on many London attractions and provide a cheap and easy way to travel around the capital.”
