First ever Routes CIS event announced

Routes is pleased to announce that the first ever Routes CIS event will be held in Kharkiv, Ukraine from 7-9 June 2010, providing the region’s airlines and airports with the perfect platform to do business and improve its air transport networks.
The event will play host to all of the features that delegates have come to expect from Routes events including formal and informal networking opportunities, the Strategy Forum, the City Pair Meeting Zone and Route Exchange.
Route Exchange, the online bidding platform for new routes, will be hosting airline briefings at Routes CIS, where carriers will be given the opportunity to outline their plans for the CIS market, allowing airports to best understand the requirements when analysing potential new destinations. Carriers will also take extended meetings at Routes CIS to follow up their online proposals.
This is the first time that a Routes event has been held in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region – and the first time an airport terminal will be used as a venue, with the airport development progress on track in preparation of welcoming delegates in June. Mike Howarth, Routes Chairman, commented:
“We are delighted to launch the 1st annual Routes CIS event, bringing together airlines and airports from both within the CIS region and those who have an interest in this growing market. It recognizes the vital importance of air travel to the CIS region particularly as an economic generator. The new airport terminal at Kharkiv is an appropriate place to launch this new event, and it symbolizes the revival of aviation in the CIS region.”
