Proposed tourism-related works and investment worth 59 billion drachmas were discussed by Greece`s national tourism council last week.
The initiatives concern hotel upgrading (150 investments), tourism infrastructure (three investments), marinas (two investments) and seven regional tourism development studies.
Another batch of initiatives, worth 18.5 billion drachmas, were approved by the council, chaired by Development Minister Nikos Christodoulakis. They concern hotel upgrading (57 investments), promotion of visits to castles, marinas and the upgrading of tourism training.
Furthermore, Christodoulakis reiterated that Greece`s tourism industry could attract up to 700 billion drachmas from the Third EU Structural Fund. He called on Greek entrepreneurs to take advantage of this opportunity to secure funding.
