Germanwings passengers from Thessaloniki will now be able to choose among 23 destinations: to the existing 18 destinations from Stuttgart, Germanwings add six new, Paris, Milan, Prague, Dusseldorf, Bologna and Verona. The German low-cost carrier thus becomes already as from the Winter Flight Schedule 2005/06 the biggest airline in the Airport of Baden-Wurttemberg.

The new, extended schedule will start with the beginning of the Winter Timetable October 30th 2005, while all new routes are open for booking already on Germanwings webpage.

The new destinations will be served with frequent connections: two daily flights to Dusseldorf, daily flights to Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles-de-Gaulle), Prague and Bologna will be served four times a week, while Verona with three. At the same time, Germanwings also increase the connections to Hamburg from two to three daily. Dr. Joachim Klein, Chairman of the Directory Board of Germanwings: This significant expansion of our activities in Stuttgart demonstrates the significance of this hub for us. Also in Baden-Wurttemberg, the outstanding economic growth of our airline enables us to offer more low-cost flights and create new jobs. For the new routes, the five aircrafts that are stationed in Stuttgart will be used even more efficiently, while an additional Airbus A319 will be added.

With the new economic routes, the Stuttgart Airport becomes even more attractive. For the first time Bologna and Verona are connected to Stuttgart, while the other four destinations complete ideally the existing offer with the best possible ratio price/performance. With ths new expansion, Germanwings establish further themselves as a quality airline with low prices. As in Cologne/Bonn, Germanwings materialize also in Stuttgart their business philosophy, to become market leader in each of their hubs.
