A ground handling company in Sofia, Bulgaria has been established by Goldair Handling. According to the company, with the country`s strong economic growth and its rapidly-rising air travel volumes, the new operation fits ideally into the Goldair Handling strategy of gaining key footholds in promising new markets.
Goldair Handling Bulgaria entered this market as the second independent ground handling company at Sofia Airport. The airport handled over 3.1 million passengers last year, passenger numbers are currently rising at an annual 15%, and further double-digit growth is expected in the years ahead.
Following the successful start up, Goldair Handling Bulgaria performed its first flight at the airport of Sofia on November 1st.
We intend to establish Goldair Handling Bulgaria as an attractive ground handling provider at Sofia International Airport by offering top-quality products and services at competitive prices, says Andreas Fotakis, Goldair Handling`s Commercial & Business Development Director. And we`re greatly looking forward to further developing our activities in the rapidly-growing Southeast European market with the same traffic structure of Greece (i.e., charter & scheduled flights) following our successful market entry in Bulgaria & Cyprus (through LGS Handling LTD) two years ago.
