The awards, run by the UK`s Computer Weekly, recognise businesses that have used e-commerce to deliver real business benefit. Holiday Autos picked up the top accolade – the UK E-Business Gold Award, and also won the E-Business award for the small to medium size enterprises (SME) category.
For the E-Business Gold Award, Holiday Autos was judged as the best overall example of e-business from all the award categories, fighting off competition from brand names such as Cisco, Virgin, Sainsburys, BT and First Choice.
The technology used as the basis of Holiday Autos e-commerce capability in the UK is being rolled out in the middle east in the first quarter of 2002, enhancing the performance of both its call centre and web site.
