Japanese television crews continue to pour into Greece and, with the assistance of the Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT), are producing programmes of travel-related, historic and educational interest.

During the months of July, August and September, the Japanese station TV Tokyo will air a programme titled Hunting a dream in the Aegean Sea, featuring four young men and women on a trip to Santorini.

The TBS channel, in conjunction with Unesco, will soon present a special focus on ancient Olympia and Athens via its popular The World Heritage show.

The journey of my soul – Greece: Looking for Dionysus – Ms Kayako Shiraishi is the title of a programme to be aired by the NHK satellite channel 2 in August. Kayako is a well-known Japanese actress and the show features her trip to Greece.

Meanwhile, the Yomiuri TV network will throw a brief spotlight on Greece in June with its five-minute show Someday, Somewhere.

Meanwhile, EOT`s advertising campaign, titled Greece. That`s life!, appeared in the Japanese corporate travel publication Travel Journal. A four-page supplement, produced by EOT`s office in Japan, highlighted the Athens Metro, the historic area of Mycenae, ancient Tyrinth and Patmos among other information aimed at business and independent travellers.
