The island`s hoteliers association, in a letter to a local newspaper, said a joint effort was needed if the project was to succeed. It believes the school could come under the auspices of the Aegean University or simply operate on its own.
The hoteliers noted that many islands such as Corfu and Rhodes were working to attract students and tertiary institutions while a university department was even being established on Samos, which has a significantly smaller population.
