Greece is a modern, developed and attractive tourist destination in which the Cypriot-based Louis<.> group would like to further expand, the company`s president Costas Loizou told a recent press conference.

In announcing its plans for the Greek market, he said the group`s firm Louis Hotels – comprising 23 units, 10 of which are in Greece – hoped to play a leading role in the local industry.

The firm Louis Travel Agencies forms the group`s base and it has offices in Cyprus, Greece, London and Moscow. It is also active in the fields of catering and cruises while it intends entering the air travel sector also.

The Louis group aims to enter the Athens stock exchange and, as the owner of the rights to the Sbarro restaurant chain, hopes to open further outlets in Greece beyond that operating in Maroussi.

Loizou denied reports that its vessels will fly under a foreign flag, saying that we have invested in the Greek flag and we will make every effort to keep them on our ships.
