Lufthansa expands partnership with Avis

Miles & More has a new partner: From 1 March, members of the Lufthansa frequent flyer programme can earn and redeem mile credits at popular designer outlets, like Wertheim Village, Ingolstadt Village and Maasmechelen Village (Belgium).  One mile will be credited to a customers account for every euro they spend on a designer brand at one of these village outlets. Miles & More members can also exchange mile credits for a village shopping voucher at the rate of one euro for every 330 miles. The designer brand outlets are nearby big cities and offer in almost 300 boutiques collections from prestigious, up-market labels at attractive prices.

Additionally, Miles & More is expanding its partnership with the Avis car rental company. Again from 1 March, Miles & More members can rent a car from Avis, worldwide, with their award miles. Not just that – there is also no time limit now. Car rentals for miles were previously restricted to selected countries and only when a car was hired for a weekend or a week. Besides more flexibility when redeeming mileage for a rental, the booking process has also been simplified. Members redeeming miles to rent a car at Avis merely enter their customer number and PIN on the website. The charge for the required rental is then shown in miles. Once a customer confirms a booking, the mileage shown is automatically deducted from their mile-credit account. In a promotion with Miles & More up to year-end 2010, Avis is also offering customers more bonus miles each time they rent, allowing them to earn up to 3,000 award miles per rental, the more often they rent.
