Switzerland`s leading hotel is offering music lovers in the Middle East the chance to enjoy getaway breaks linked to the world-famous  Montreux Jazz Festival, and a major opera event set in one of Europe`s most ancient concert venues.

Music is the opening theme in a series of new travel packages to be launched by the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne in an effort to introduce visitors to the many and varied attractions of the Lake Geneva region.

Couples and families taking advantage of the four-day, three night packages will enjoy stays in superior rooms overlooking the lake and Alps, continental breakfast, and dinner at two of the hotel`s top-class restaurants.

In addition to sourcing tickets for the fabulous Montreux Jazz Festival, and the spectacular Avenches Opera Festival hosted by an ancient Roman town, the hotel is offering guests a choice of train, steamboat or limousine transport to either of the two events. Special rates and festival arrangements are also available to those arriving on longer stays.

The Beau-Rivage Palace is promoting its musical getaway breaks in the Middle East well ahead of the two big summer festivals, to give visitors the chance to beat the rush for tickets from tens of thousands of annual festival-goers from around the world.

“We`re inviting music lovers to make their travel plans now, take advantage of some very attractive rates at the Beau-Rivage Palace, and let us look after their ticket, and transport, requirements” said the hotel`s general manager, Christian Marich.

“We’re not only targeting those planning short stays in the area while travelling in Europe in the summer, but also couples and families who would like to spend more time exploring the Lake Geneva region, and taking in its sights and special events.”

Montreux, which has been welcoming visitors from far and wide to its internationally-renowned Jazz Festival since 1967, is a comfortable 25-minute drive along the banks of Lake Geneva from the hotel`s lush private park setting.

Taking place this year from July 6-21, the festival is once again looking to surpass the record audiences which last year enjoyed a whole roster of events and activities, appealing to a variety of musical tastes, from Stravinski to Huey Lewis & The News, Lionel Richie, and rock legends Deep Purple.

Avenches, a one-hour drive from the Beau-Rivage Palace, first held its Opera Festival seven years ago in celebration of the medieval townis Roman past. The festival is held in the town`s amphitheatre, and visitors also have access to a part of the town wall, with the eastern gate and the restored `Tornallaz` tower, the only surviving watchtower of 70 that used to surround the town.

Taking place this year from July 5-14, the festival will mark the 100 years since the death of Guiseppe Verdi with six performances of his Rigoletto.
