MyTravel announced yesterday that is about to axe up to 540 jobs in a bid to cut costs. The company told its airline staff that hundreds of jobs would go as it cuts the number of aircraft in its fleet by nine, from 30 to 21.
MyTravel – formerly Airtours, has been making losses in the past 18 months. In an effort to return to profitability for 2005 it was in negotiations that most probably will see hundreds of airline jobs axed, as struggles to return to profit.
