The Lesvos Maritime Company, (NEL<.>) has brought a new ship aboard – a high-speed Corsaire 12000 named Eolis Express.

The HSC Deep V Monohull vessel will soon be serving the Cyclades, representing efforts to modernise transport between the popular islands. The Eolis Express, measuring 119 metres long and 15.7 metres wide, can reach speeds of 36 miles per hour. It can carry 1,000 passengers and 210 cars.

Another two high-speed vessels have been commissioned by the firm, namely a Corsaire 14000 and a Corsaire 10000, which travel at speeds of up to 36 and 40 knots respectively. Construction has already begun in France and the ships are due to be delivered in May and June of next year. They will operate in the Cyclades and service the Piraeus-Chios-Lesvos-northern Greece and Volos-Sporades-Lesvos routes.
