OctopusTravel.com, the UK-based travel company that offers an extensive range of accommodation and sightseeing products on the Internet in 20 languages, announced yesterday at ITB that it has signed partnership deals with L`TUR, Freeserve and Air Luxor.

The deal with Baden-Baden based travel agent L`TUR, which is a European leader in last-minute trips, will see OctopusTravel.com`s offer on accommodation, sightseeing and other travel products featured on the L`TUR.de and FlyLoco.de web sites. On the FlyLoco.de site, it will be possible to create dynamic packages comprising accommodation, transport and sightseeing.

In addition, the full OctopusTravel.com product range will be available through L`TUR`s 140 retail agencies in Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

L`TUR is co-owned by Thomas Cook, Europe`s largest tour operator, TUI, and Karl Heinz Kogel. In 2003 it had sales of EUR339 million and it handled over 0.75 million customers.

According to Stefan Dapper, Member of the L`TUR Board, the partnership will dramatically widen the company`s hotel portfolio and will allow its customers greater choice when building their own travel packages.

The new relationship with Freeserve, the UK`s No. 1 internet service provider, with 4.8 million customers, sees OctopusTravel.com`s accommodation product featured exclusively on the Freeserve Travel Channel.

Commenting on the partnership, Jon Gisby, Managing Director of Portals at Freeserve, said: An exclusive partnership with OctopusTravel.com gives us the opportunity to broaden the range of travel services we offer to our customers, as OctopusTravel.com has a phenomenal inventory of hotels.

The company`s Travel Guides and sightseeing tours will be a great asset to Freeserve Travel Channel`s content.

An agreement in principle has been reached with Air Luxor which, once finalised, will make the full range of OctopusTravel.com`s products available from the Air Luxor website. The products will be available on co-branded pages and via Air Luxor`s call centres.

Air Luxor was formed in 1988 and has quickly grown into a worldwide scheduled and charter airline, carrying over one million passengers in 2003. With its hub in Lisbon, the company`s network includes more than 50 yearround and seasonal destinations, with more being added continuously.
