Olympic Airways officially for sale

Greek state carrier Olympic Airways<.> is officially up for sale following the publication of an invitation for expressions of interest in the Financial Times. Up to 65% of the company may be sold off to the successful bidder.



The submission of proposals to consulting firm Credit Suisse First Boston should be completed by January 31.



Following this procedure, Credit Suisse First Boston and the Greek ministries of national economy and transport will release a short list, around mid-March 2001, from which the best proposal will be selected by an evaluation committee.



The prospective buyer is required to submit a business plan outlining the strategies it intends to implement.
