The Department of Tourism of the University of Westminster announced its 3rd Annual Tourism and Development Forum which will take place at the University of Westminster on December 1st.

The forum will debate the concept Optimising tourism impacts: Implication for planning and management of destinations. The forum will examine techniques and methodologies to assess and measure tourism impacts as well as it will provide guidance for planners and managers. The forum will also develop a research agenda for future investigation on this topic and it will explore the challenges and opportunities for destinations and tourism enterprises in the new millennium. Through the formal and informal discussions the forum will facilitate the exchange of ideas between leading researchers and academics with representatives of the industry.

The forum aims to stimulate discussion and exchange of ideas between tourism professionals, planners, managers and marketers as well as academics and students and it should provide intellectual stimulation for all participants. Dr Dimitrios Buhalis<.> is the coordinator of the forum.

A tourism and hospitality books exhibition is also organised in parallel.
