The Union of Chamber of Tourism in both Egypt and Greece signed a protocol on joint cooperation providing for setting up a joint tourist council to boost relations in this field.

Mohamed Safieddin, Egypt`s tourism advisor in Athens, said this cooperation aims at enhancing Egypt`s competitive privilege in light of its low prices and the trend to encourage Greek tourist agents to include Egypt on their itineraries, particularly during the Olympic games in Athens, which will continue for more than a couple of weeks in August.

An agreement was reached to have 150-200 Greek tourist agents pay a visit to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh in June as well as other Egyptian destinations to consider facilities, including air ticket fares and hotel accommodation prices, in a bid to enhance tourist activities.
