Six major British and German tour operators have announced that they intend to offer packages next season to Rhodes<.> through to the end of November.

They came to this decision after concluding that, in climatic terms, November is a good month for travel.

The forecast for Greek tourism is healthy for the entire 2000 season and one reason for this appears to stem from a hesitancy on the part of tour operators to fully open their doors to Turkey. The Ocalan issue, political instability and the recent earthquakes in Turkey are expected to affect the country`s tourism prospects for 2000. Turkish hoteliers have already begun to offer discounts – for next year – of up to 20 percent on last year`s rates.
