Royal Jordanian upgrades GDS Participation Agreement with Travelport

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, announces that Galileo and Worldspan-connected travel agents can now benefit from enhanced connectivity on flight bookings with Royal Jordanian (RJ).

Jordan’s national carrier and oneworld alliance member recently upgraded its global distribution system (GDS) participation agreement with Travelport to leverage the GDS provider’s leading-edge ‘inside availability’ technology, the highest level of connectivity available through the GDS.

The enhanced functionality will ensure travel agents have real-time connectivity to the airline’s inventory of fares, providing access to last-seat availability, current pricing and rules, seat maps, instant bookings and confirmations, as well as full e-ticketing capabilities for RJ flights.

As a result of this new feature, booking transactions between RJ and Travelport’s extensive global network of travel retailers will be seamless, boosting productivity and operational cost savings for the travel trade, as well as providing numerous yield management and inventory control benefits to the airline.

“We are pleased to partner with Royal Jordanian to deliver the most powerful booking functionality available to travel buyers worldwide,” said Khalid Alkhalidi, Middle East Director of Airline Services for Travelport. “We are working hard to introduce solutions that help make booking travel easier and improve the delivery of service.”

“Royal Jordanian continually seeks new and innovative ways to expand our services to the travel agent community, which is why we are delighted to offer real-time connectivity to our flight inventory through our new level of GDS participation with Travelport," said Dina Azar, Head of Distribution, Royal Jordanian.

Royal Jordanian serves a network of 58 destinations with direct, non-stop flights from Amman, and gives passengers access to more than 700 cities through its membership in the oneworld global airline alliance.
