Scheduled services from Munich to 185 destinations worldwide

As in the previous winter period, airlines operating at Bavaria's international hub have scheduled about 150,000 flights.

MUNICH – The new winter timetable at Munich Airport just started on October 28, 2012 and will remain in effect until March 30, 2013. Τhis winter, travelers can choose from among 215 destinations in 65 countries served by 99 different airlines. Scheduled services will be offered by 77 airlines flying to 185 destina-tions in 63 countries.

In the intercontinental segment, Lufthansa will launch its first-ever Munich to Capetown service in the coming winter season, offering five non-stop flights a week with an A340 widebody jet. However, Lufthansa will no longer be flying to Singapore, which will still be served daily by Lufthansa’s Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines. With the addition of new flights to Charlotte, Lufthansa will now be offering daily departures to that city in North Carolina in the USA.

In the European segment, Monarch Airlines will be serving four destina-tions in the UK. The low-cost carrier will fly four times a week to Birmingham, London-Luton and Manchester and twice a week to Leeds. For the first time, Lufthansa will be flying from Munich to Rotterdam, with 12 weekly departures to the Dutch port city. Lufthansa will also be add-ing a new daily departure to the Danish capital of Copenhagen this win-ter, bringing the total to four flights a day. Icelandair is doubling its number of flights to Reykjavik to twice a week. The Russian airline S7 is expanding its service from Munich to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport from 10 to 17 weekly flights. For the first time, Yakutia will be serving the Russian city of Krasnodar, near the Black Sea, starting with two flights a week.

In the domestic segment, OLT Express is adding Münster/Osnabrück and Saarbrücken to the routes it serves from Munich, and will offer 11 week-ly departures from Munich to each of those destinations.
