Shearings Holidays partners with Amadeus

Amadeus has signed an agreement with Shearings Holidays to be its GDS partner for the next three years. The agreement guarantees Shearings worldwide access to the entire range of fares, schedules and inventories on the Amadeus system.
Before selecting Amadeus, Shearings undertook a rigorous review of all GDS systems on the market. It needed a solution that would allow it to grow its worldwide presence and incorporate fares, schedules and inventories from the aviation, cruise and rail sectors. Amadeus’ system fitted the bill and on the 4th January 2010, bookings were migrated onto Amadeus. The migration was seamless and completed in less than two days.
Denis Wormwell, Chief Executive of Shearings, said: “Choosing a technology and GDS partner was a big decision for us, as it’s at the core of our business. Amadeus clearly demonstrated why its technology is leading the field and throughout the transition they were incredibly supportive and professional. We gave Amadeus a really tight timeframe in which to complete the project and they came up trumps. As a result we were able to get up and running quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption.”
Keith Owens, Shearings Project Manager, added “What really impressed us were the training and support Amadeus offered.  The staff were approachable and hands on. The training was also tailored to our needs; taking into account the experience our employees had with other systems. Finally, the customer service we received, and are still receiving, is excellent."
Tim Russell, Managing Director, Amadeus UK & Ireland stated, “We are delighted that our solutions have been chosen by Shearings. We look forward to building on the close working relationship we have already established and are confident that our advanced technology will assist Shearings in achieving its ambitious growth strategy. ”
