It became safer to fly in the last decade, according to Flight International Magazine. The periodical reported that there were 10,600 deaths in the previous decade as compared to the last, when there were 11,950. Even though the latter total is higher the magazine reported that there were 325 more passengers on 30% more flights, resulting in fewer deaths per overall passengers and flights.
