During the summer season, especially in August, Slovenia`s natural health resorts were exceptionally well frequented. August represents the peak of the health resort season, which runs with minor oscillations throughout the year. In the first eight months, health resorts recorded a 2.7% increase in the number of guests, including 5.4% more foreign guests than in the same period last year, and a 1.4% increase in the number of overnight stays. This year`s swimming season was very good as well since the weather was very favourable for the outdoor thermal pool complexes.

The health resorts forecast a good fall season, which is devoted less to vacationers and more to health-care tourism and preparations for the coming winter months. Renovations and innovations will certainly contribute to this. For this purpose, the Ptuj Thermal Spa in northeastern Slovenia opened a thermal park with 2,100 m2 of water surface areas with four water-massage pools, a slide, and a sauna park furnished in the Roman style, which goes well with the ancient protected city of Ptuj. Ptuj itself is very attractive and greatly visited during the transition from winter to spring when it becomes the scene of the traditional Kurentovanje festival and a gathering point for ethnographical Carnival figures and masqueraders.

The Topolsica Health Resort in northern Slovenia is in the final phase of constructing a pool complex of 3,000 m2 in several stories; and at Rogla, which is transformed in winter into a genuine white paradise and where top athletes come for training, the construction of a wellness center is also in the final phase.
