Vernicos Yachts and the Zeus Group have formed an alliance which should change the state of play in marine tourism and reinforce Greece`s competitiveness in the global arena.
The agreement concerns the purchase, construction and refurbishment of crewed tourist vessels which cater to middle- and upper-range clients. It was signed by the heads of both companies, namely George Vernicos and Lakis Venetopoulos.
This was followed by the joint purchase of the traditional tourist vessel Viking Star, whose ongoing renovation should be complete by April. It is a two-masted boat with 24 double exterior cabins plus ensuite bathroom, large interior and exterior areas, a lounge and bar. They intend to proceed with the purchase of a second, larger vessel as part of an effort to better serve the Greek island market as well as begin Turkish itineraries starting next year.
