Attica Enterprises and Strintzis management and staff witnessed the launch during a panegyric ceremony at the Van Der Giessen de Noord shipyards in Rotterdam.
Maria Strintzis, daughter of shipowner and Strintzis managing director Gerasimos Strintzis, `baptised` the Blue Star in the traditional manner.
The ship, which can reach speeds of 28 knots, will service the Patras-Brindisi-Ancona line and is able to carry 1,600 passengers, 850 cars and 110 trucks.
