Attica Enterprises subsidiary Superfast<.> Ferries has ordered two new Superfast car-passenger ferries from the German shipyards Flender Werft AG at a cost of 67 billion drachmas (200 million euros). The agreement includes an option for the construction of another two vessels.

The initial two will be named Superfast XI and Superfast XII and should be delivered by January and May of 2002 respectively.

Within the next few months the company expects to take delivery of Superfast V and VI from the German shipyards Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG, which will operate on the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Ancona route, boosting Superfast Ferries` share in the Adriatic market.

The firm should also receive Superfast VII, VIII, IX and X from the same shipyards, that will operate in the Baltic Sea linking Germany with Sweden and Finland.
