Athens Hellinikon International Airport welcomed Olympic Airways<.>` third A300-605ER, which joined the fleet by the name of `Kriti` (Isle of Crete).

OA`s new addition, made its first flight with the colors of the Greek Flag Carrier, on Monday 3rd of April, on the flight OA 906/907 to and from Thessaloniki.

The new A300-605ER is the third to joint OA`s fleet (together with SX-BEK `Macedonia` and SX-BEL `Athena`) is a state of the art tecnology aircraft with total capacity of 269 passengers (28 Club class and 241 Economy Class). Furthermore, Olympic`s A300-605ER is capable to carry up to 34 tons of cargo, while its range is more than 4,600 Km. Passengers flying with Olympic`s new A300-605ER will have the change to enjoy high quality in-flight service.

Olympic Airways Airbus A300-605ER are for the time being flying to London Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt, and the Middle East. Starting from the 18th of June 2000, A300-605ER will be flying to Boston (stopover in Manchester), as this specific type was introduced for long haul flights crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

The introduction of A300-605Ers on long haul flights, is expected to increase the profitability of the Carrier`s network, allowing Olympic Airways to add new frequencies on flights to the USA and the Far East.
