Tools of the trade are `ferry` relaxing for agents

If there`s a surprising air of calm or relaxation around the offices of UK travel agents at this busy time of year, we have discovered the reason why.

Leading ferry company Stena Line has sent out `Massage Tools` to 1,500 agents across the country to help relieve stress levels.

Summer is a very busy and stressful time of year for travel agents, working long hours and often not having the chance to go on holiday themselves.

With travel industry bosses attending stress management classes, and recent reports showing that the travel industry has the highest levels of employees on medication such as Prozac, Stena Line has stepped in to try and alleviate some of the tension for stressed out agents.

Stena Line Trade Relations Manager Lynn Mitchell explained:

As the number one selling ferry operator to Ireland, Britain and Holland, we at Stena Line know how busy and stressful the summer months can be due to significantly increased traffic volumes.

Travel is a high pressure industry and travel agents have a lot of responsibility to provide customers with their dream holidays, making sure their cash is well spent as well as having to deal with an endless stream of problems too varied to mention.

We know that agents across the country perform a brilliant job under trying circumstances all year round so we thought that we`d send out Massage Tools to ease the pressure and help them relax a bit.

I`m sure it`s not the answer to everyone`s problems but every little bit helps,
she added.

Stena Line offers the biggest fleet and the widest choice of routes from Britain to Ireland and Holland. The company carries more than three million passengers on its Irish Sea routes each year, more than its rival ferry operators combined. Stena Line also operates the fastest direct route to Holland on the HSS Stena Discovery from Harwich to Hook of Holland, offering a competitive and attractive alternative to the traditional Channel crossing.
