Leading travel and tourism specialist Hume Whitehead has further boosted its tourist board portfolio with its appointment by Tourism South East.
Tourism South East, a membership-based organisation that delivers promotional activity across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, selected the agency after a competitive three-way pitch.
The Hume Whitehead account team will be headed by director Sue Whitehead, with day-to-day PR activity supported by Claire Winsor and Sarah Habicht. The team is tasked with promoting Tourism South East’s three marketing campaigns – Family Fun, Time For Us and Escape – focusing on the region’s great appeal for days out, short breaks and holidays for visitors of all ages. Additionally, the team will also work on Tourism South East’s RDPE-funded Great Country Pubs campaign which launches during October 2011.
Hume Whitehead took up the three-year contract from 1st October. The win boosts the agency’s impressive travel and tourism portfolio which currently features a broad range of domestic and international tourism clients including tourist boards, tour operators and hotels.
Tourism South East’s Head of Marketing, Karen Roebuck, commented: "The Hume Whitehead team impressed us with their creative ideas and understanding of the needs of our partner members. We are confident that they will help us increase first-time visitors to our region, as well as continuing to attract repeat visits from our core markets of couples and families."
Sue Whitehead, director of Hume Whitehead, added: "We are thrilled to have been chosen to help Tourism South East promote its wonderful range of attractions and experiences at a time when "the staycation" is increasing in popularity. 2012 will be a particularly exciting year as the region commemorates the Dickens bicentenary and Titanic centenary, hosts a number of the London 2012 Olympic Games events and participates in celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee."
