Twenty years of Parthen

Οn June 1st, 1989 Bart Heinrichs started Parthen Presentatie, the first congress and meeting essentials supplier in the Benelux. From day one Bart focused on live events. In 1997 a whole software department was incorporated, Parthen IMpact, soon to be followed by Parthen Registration & Staffing. From a trading enterprise Parthen grew into a role of general service provider for congresses and events. In 2000 Parthen became what it is today: the meeting services company. Showing its own face all over Europe.

On June 1st Parthen will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Indeed a moment for some reflection. Looking back, we now know that Parthen was the first ever supplier of congress and meeting essentials in the Benelux. Under the name Parthen Presentatie, Bart Heinrichs and a business partner started to actively work the then still immature congress and meeting market. The business activities mostly included the sale of articles that were needed for presentations in front of live audiences during congresses, seminars, product launches and courses.

Although Bart Heinrichs started his business from home, within half a year he needed some serious office space, because Parthen continued to grow. Ever since the founding of the company the focus has remained on live events: congresses, meetings and other events and exhibitions.

In 1997 Parthen grew considerably. Right after moving to a new office building a new company was added, Trantor. This company had been developing the congress registration software called Eventure since 1989, and was renamed Parthen IMpact. In 1997 Parthen also founded a new department, Parthen Registration & Staffing
(R&S).

From a trading business, Parthen has become a service providing organisation. In 2000 the company was renamed Parthen the meeting services company. For a long time, Parthen has been a member of MPI and ICCA, supporting many local and regional initiatives in the congress and event sector. Parthen managers have been
active members of the boards of these and other organisations for years. After a period of growth in the Benelux, Parthen started the 21st century by entering the European market, focusing on PCOs, (inter)national associations, corporates and local, regional and national authorities. Parthen offers Registration, Staffing, Meeting Essentials and the congress registration software Eventure. Parthen has 21 employees.
