The USA still holds more international association meetings than any other country while Barcelona tops the charts as the most popular city in 2002, according to ICCA DATA`s latest statistics. Dramatic changes were also seen in the Scandinavian region with Stockholm rising from no.26 to no.3, while Finland dropped from no.4 to no.11 in number of international meetings. Europe continues to have the greatest number of meetings per continent, and Asia and Africa have remained steady.

The ICCA DATA report, The International Meetings Market 1995-2004 both for the association & corporate market, presents a comprehensive analysis of past, present and future trends in international meetings. Every year the new ICCA figures are anxiously awaited by destinations around the world, all competing for a larger share of this lucrative market.

The Association report gives a comprehensive breakdown of global and regional association congresses. It includes figures illustrating the global scene, such as the top convention countries and cities according to number of meetings held, numbers of participants and analysis of the economic value of meetings.

The Corporate report includes information on meeting planners who initiate international corporate meetings outside their own country. The report contains figures about size and type of meetings, industry sectors of the companies, venues and external agencies used.
