Virgin<.> Atlantic Airways has put into service a brand new Airbus A321-211 that will fly exclusively on the Athens-London route.

Named Hellenic Beauty, the acquisition of the craft forms part of the company`s fleet upgrading programme and its efforts at revitalising the international image of Virgin, said the firm`s director in Athens, Jonathan Harding.

The plane has generous seating for 155 in economy class and 26 in business while passengers can view the latest cinema releases, presented with Greek subtitles. Its radio programmes include two channels airing modern Greek music.

Virgin Atlantic opened its Athens offices in 1995 and in summer offers two flights daily to London`s Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
