If Prague decides to organize the annual general meeting of ASTA, Czech Airlines is ready to participate in its

preparations as well as in the actual event. As the flag carrier of the Czech Republic and a SkyTeam Alliance member, CSA will provide air travel for the organizers and participants of the congress.

The global congress of ASTA in the Czech Republic in 2006 would have a very positive influence on making the Czech Republic visible as an attractive tourist destination from the point of view of prestige, promotional possibilities, and economic benefits.

Prague, with its firm position on the global tourist map is an important aviation transit point and the home base for Czech Airlines.

CSA aims at making Prague even more open to both tourist and business clients. For this reason, CSA considers the ASTA congress in 2006 very important and is ready to support its preparations by arranging tickets for the organizers and partially for the participants as well.

Considering the importance of the congress, which is considered to be the “Olympics of Tourism”, most alliance members are also prepared to participate, and after KLM, Northwest, and Continental join SkyTeam, it will become the strongest airline alliance operating between the USA and Europe.

Currently, Czech Airlines offers connections to two New York airports – five flights a week to JFK Airport, and three flights a week to Newark where CSA aircraft returned last summer. CSA has succeeded in increasing the number of passengers travelling over the ocean by 12.2% when compared to the year 2002.
