World Airways<.>, which utilises a well-maintained fleet of international range widebody aircraft, said in early January in an announcement that it signed agreement with Homeric Tours to operate between JFK Airport in New York and Athens Greece beginning in the summer of 2001. The value of the latter agreement is estimated at US $5 million.



At the same time the airline said that it also signed an agreement to contract extensions totalling some US $55 million. Under one contract a two year wet agreement with a major freight forwarder, World Airways is going to operate a MD-11F cargo aircraft five times per week, flying between cargo hubs in Europe as well as in the United States.
