Airline increasing frequency on current routes, launching new route.
TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Since December 12, 1992 when EVA Air launched its maiden flight to North America, the continent has been an important market for the airline. It is further developing the potential this year by increasing frequency on current routes and introducing services to a new city, Chicago. From current gateways in Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver, EVA already offers more flights and seat capacity between North America and Taiwan with more easy, one-stop connections to more destinations throughout Asia and Mainland China than any other airline.
By strategically choosing routes, joining Star Alliance and developing code-sharing relationships, EVA has effectively extended the reach of its North America services throughout the Southwest, Midwest and Northeast to build a steadily growing passenger base of business and leisure travelers flying to and from Asia. It now operates a total of 65 North America flights every week and will up that number to 77 by the end of this year. EVA is using the seven brand-new Boeing 777-300ERs it is adding to its fleet this year to boost frequency on existing routes in North America and launch the new destination.
After only nine month of scheduled operations, EVA is increasing Taipei – Houston frequency to six flights a week on March 27 and bumping that up to daily service before the end of the year. It is boosting operations on the New York route to 10 flights a week on July 7 and upping that number to two trips per day before year-end. And it is launching Chicago flights this fall.
EVA’s current weekly, nonstop flights to/from North America and frequency increases:
- Houston/George Bush International Airport – 4 flights each week now, increased to 6 flights/week on March 27 and to daily flights (7 weekly) on October 10, 2016
- Los Angeles – 21 flights (3 daily)
- San Francisco – 14 flights
- Seattle – daily flights (7 weekly)
- New York/John F. Kennedy International Airport – daily (7) flights, increasing to 10 flights/week on July 7, 2016 and two (2) flights a day on Oct. 4, 2016
- Vancouver – 5 flights
- Toronto – 5 flights.
