ezimute launches first app designed for tourists and hosts in Lisbon

The free ezimute app, available on iPhone and iPad, works as a tourist guide with geolocalized maps, meaning they work even if the user is offline.

The new ezimute app is both for tourists (and local accommodation hosts and guests) making their lives much easier. It allows tourists to find the best places to visit and discover in Lisbon, but also make online reservations for tours, attractions and restaurants with discounts.

Owners and hosts of local accommodations, such as Airbnb and other similar networks, can make lists with recommendations of places to visit in Lisbon and then pass them on to their guest through a simple referral mechanism. Every time a tourist makes a reservation, he gets a discount and their host gets a commission.

The free ezimute app, available on iPhone and iPad, works as a tourist guide with geolocalized maps, meaning they work even if the user is offline. The users can navigate on the app and find on maps (or on lists) what they can visit through 11 different categories: Tours, Attractions, Restaurants, Cafes-Bars-Clubs, Children, Shops, Monuments, Museums, Beaches, Spots and Transports.

As you are reading these words, local accommodation is growing faster than any other business worldwide. Airbnb alone gathers 40 million users who stay at 1,5 million different properties. In Portugal there are 30 thousand tourist accommodation of this kind and the number increases every day.

The ezimute app gets to all hosts who have local accommodations in Lisbon, working as a facilitator to the service the hosts provide to their guests. Although platforms such as Airbnb already have their own apps, no one has made one to help both hosts and their guests/tourists.
