LONDON – based travel tech startup Firef.ly, which raised US$1.12 million in seed funding, has launched a free travel app that will truly help travellers connect the dots of their travel.

The iTunes launch caps off a series of milestones Firef.ly has achieved over the past year.
Raised US$1.12 million seed round via crowdfunding platform Seedrs and an Innovate UK Grant. Graduated from the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Programme Spring 2015 cohort in London. “We have built an app that will meet the demands of modern-day travellers. With a single app, one now has the means to holistically plan, capture and relive their journeys” said Firef.ly CEO Chad Cribbins.
What is Firef.ly?
Firef.ly is a smart, location-aware travel app that acts as your local guide and intimate travel journal. Currently, the tools to meaningfully plan a trip, get guided content in a destination, capture, share and relive travel moments, are horribly fragmented. For example, you’ve got photos on Instagram, a journal on Evernote, advice from Tripadvisor, a guidebook and a DSLR to capture photos you may never look at again.
With Firef.ly, one can now plan a trip, get personalised guided content in a destination, capture and share moments embedded on your Firef.ly ‘trail’, and relive it through one-of-kind mementos such as posters and photo books after.
We aim to build a massively scalable travel ecosystem that consolidates the fragmentation currently seen in the travel sector.

Firef.ly is a free download available on the Apple iTunes store. The app runs on the iPhone 4S and upwards and requires iOS9+.
