German taxi app joins IRU Global Taxi Network

German app provider Taxi Deutschland becomes latest partner to join IRU Global Taxi Network, adding 50,000 taxis in Germany.

BRUSSELS – The International Road Transport Union (IRU) Global Taxi Network is now bigger and better following a decision from German taxi cooperative Taxi Deutschland Servicegesellschaft fur Taxizentralen eG to join the rapidly expanding network.

As quality operators of Germany’s popular taxi smartphone app, Taxi Deutschland adds 50,000 taxis to the Global Taxi Network, making it easier for customers to use high quality, safe, legal taxi services.

Dieter Schlenker, Chairman of the Taxi Deutschland cooperative, said, “Our decision to join the Global Taxi Network shows our commitment to quality and safety for our passengers. Driving with network partners ensures an internationally valid and unique service with qualified drivers and licensed taxis. These are standards that Taxi Deutschland customers have been used to for many years.”

The Global Taxi Network, now the world’s largest taxi network, brings together IRU-certified, legal, smartphone taxi apps making it easier for customers to identify and use high quality taxi services globally. The network currently operates on 3 continents encompassing 150,000 taxis worldwide and is growing rapidly with new countries and cities being added regularly.
