Germany an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, says Interdean

As a leading international shipping and removal services provider, Interdean argues that Germany’s geography and outstanding areas of natural beauty is not only making it popular with tourists, but also helps to explain why an increasing number of foreigners are deciding to relocate there.

Leading overseas relocation specialist, Interdean, has backed Germany’s growing tourism industry claiming that its geographical diversity makes it the perfect location for adventurous holidaymakers.

Tourism figures in the European country have risen steadily in recent years, with its excellent international transport links, vibrant cities and comparatively cheap accommodation cited as being the major reasons behind the increase in visitors. However, travel websites are also now talking up its suitability as a destination for those seeking an outdoor holiday, pointing to its extensive and varied terrain and abundance of national parks.

Germany’s geography ranges from the Bavarian Alps in the south, to the forested river valleys and uplands in the centre, and the low-lying areas of the North. In addition, it has 15 national parks and a further 14 biosphere reserves scattered throughout the country, making it one of the best places on the continent for trekking and a host of other outdoor activities. Germans are very proud of their natural landscapes and this is one of the many reasons for the rise in the WaldKindergarten’s popularity.

A spokesman for the company said: “Germany is a big country known for its industry and thriving city life, but there is great natural variation within its borders that make it a wonderful place to escape from it all.

“It has some of the most varied landscapes in Europe, which opens up numerous opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Skiing clearly remains a massive attraction in winter to the south, but the Bavaria region is also home to some of the best landscapes for walking on the continent. For those that like it a little flatter, cycling is incredibly popular in northern Germany, with the undulating valleys and uplands in the centre of the country offering yet another scenic alternative.”

“It’s no surprise that such natural splendour and the availability of such a wide range of outdoor activities, all interconnected by its outstanding rail network, increases the attraction of Germany as a destination for expatriates,” he added.
