Grab launches mobile ordering in three new airports

Airport mobile ordering app doubles its service footprint.

HOUSTON – Grab, the largest e-commerce platform in U.S. airports, announces the launch of mobile ordering capabilities in three additional airports.

With launch partner Delaware North, Grab is doubling its footprint by adding mobile ordering at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Denver International Airport (DEN) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Between these three airports, the mobile-ordering service will be available at 25 additional restaurants.

“Grab has been the ideal partner to launch mobile ordering for our restaurants in Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS),” said Kevin Kelly, President of Delaware North Travel Hospitality Services. “The system is easy to implement, and we have already seen great success in just a few short months. We look forward to continuing the momentum as we roll-out the service through the rest of our network.”

Grab currently offers mobile ordering at 27 restaurants in ATL and AUS, where users view menus, gauge wait-times and place or hold pre-paid orders. The launches announced today will grow the app’s current list of restaurant partners by more than 90 percent, enabling mobile ordering at 52 airport restaurants across all markets.

Restaurants included in Grab’s latest announcement include:

  • FLL: Zona Fresca, Food Network Kitchen, Pei Wei, Steak ‘n Shake, among others
  • DEN: Boulder Beer Tap House, Lefty’s Colorado Trail Grille, Red Rocks Bar & BBQ, and Schlotzsky’s Deli
  • MSY: Copeland’s Gourmet Kitchen, Dooky Chase, PJ’s Coffee, Zatarain’s and more.

Grab modernizes the airport travel experience by providing passengers with on-demand resources to save time and reduce the stress of making a flight. The company is rapidly expanding its base, with over 200 restaurant partners across 17 airports slated to launch the mobile ordering platform in the next few months. In addition to mobile ordering, Grab also offers directories at more than 40 airports nationwide for users to easily search restaurants, retailers and services conveniently located in their terminal.

“We are excited to extend Grab’s mobile capabilities in these new markets,” said Mark Bergsrud, CEO of Grab. “It is our aim to improve the airport travel experience. We are giving passengers the resources they need to save time, and easily find the amenities they need when they need them.”
