Greyhound expects for more than one millon customers to travel for Christmas

'We expect the highest demand to be Dec. 23 and Dec. 24, as these are the peak days when most customers travel to their holiday destinations,' says Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc.

DALLAS – Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation, is gearing up for one of the busiest holiday seasons, with nearly a million customers expected to travel to more than 3,800 destinations across North America.

With Christmas and New Year’s approaching, Greyhound reiterates to customers that traveling by bus is one of the safest, most convenient and affordable ways to travel this holiday season. With no middle seat, customers can travel more comfortably and enjoy the aisle or window seat, as well as other modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets, extra legroom and leather seats.

“This season is all about spending time with family and friends, and we offer our customers a safe, dependable and hassle-free option that allows them to avoid the stress of driving their car or traveling via other modes of transportation,” said Myron Watkins, vice president, customer experience, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “Customers can sit back, relax and enjoy the trip.”

This holiday season, Greyhound once again anticipates heavy customer volume and encourages customers to purchase tickets in advance and arrive at least one hour before their scheduled departure time. Tickets are valid only on the date and schedule for which they were purchased. If customers wish to change travel arrangements, tickets can be re-issued for a fee if seats are available.

“We expect the highest demand to be Dec. 23 and Dec. 24, as these are the peak days when most customers travel to their holiday destinations,” said Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “We encourage customers to buy tickets now, to ensure that they get a seat on their desired schedule at the lowest fares. If possible, customers should consider traveling on off-peak travel dates to allow for more schedule options.”
