Hidden Paradise Brazil campaign will specifically focus on stimulating international tourism in low season

Brazil receives just a 5th of South America’s international visitors and it is one of the Brazilian government’s priorities is to double its foreign tourism over the next 5 years.

‘Pousada’ is the term used to describe Brazil’s independently owned B&Bs, guesthouses, boutique hotels and eco and farm lodges. These small businesses owned by Brazilians and foreign nationals alike, are rapidly becoming the life-blood of tourism in many coastal and rural regions off the beaten track in Brazil. However, they are rarely supported by tourism campaigns or government incentives and traditionally suffer from very low occupation rates throughout much of the year.

The Hidden Paradise Brazil campaign will specifically focus on stimulating international tourism in low season when prices drop, availability is easier and the weather frequently better. Specially curated information on hiddenpousadasbrazil.com and the company’s blog will showcase the destinations, attractions and accommodation options as well as detailing the safest and most practical ways to get there and the best time of year to go.

“Brazil receives just a 5th of South America’s international visitors and it is one of the Brazilian government’s priorities is to double its foreign tourism over the next 5 years. We believe this largely depends on capturing the ‘Independent Traveller’ market and that means giving them the essential tools in English to plan their trip online, with confidence and ease. Rio de Janeiro, Iguacu Falls and the Amazon are already well and truly on the Brazil tourist map. However, travel a bit further and there are hundreds of equally beautiful ‘hidden paradises’ just waiting to be discovered. This campaign supports our partner pousadas whilst at the same time promoting sustainable tourism in all the areas covered,” explains Alison McGowan Founder & CEO, Hidden Pousadas Brazil.
