SAN FRANCISCO – Global restaurateur HMSHost, in partnership with San Francisco restaurateur, April Spears, brings beloved Super Duper Burgers to San Francisco International Airport as part of a new six-year contract valued at $33 million. This will be the first airport location for the San Francisco-based burger joint. Super Duper Burgers will be located in the airport’s International Terminal and is scheduled to open in early 2018.

“HMSHost is proud to deliver travelers the best dining choices in the industry and we are excited to enhance the traveler experience with this great local favorite at San Francisco International Airport,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Kent Vanden Oever. “Super Duper Burgers’ success began in San Francisco and quickly grew to be loved across the Bay Area. We are thrilled to now be able to introduce these delicious burgers to the thousands of world travelers that go through San Francisco International Airport on a daily basis.”

“Fast food burgers. Slow food values.” That is the Super Duper Burgers motto. Super Duper Burgers offers premium, high quality and local ingredients at fast-food convenience, now right in the concourse. San Francisco travelers can choose from the Super Burger, two four ounce patties made with 100% vegetarian-fed and sourced locally premium beef; the mini burger; the chicken sandwich with chipotle aioli; and the veggie burger blended from hummus and cucumber, and Super Duper’s zesty signature Super Sauce. All are served on buns baked by a San Francisco artisan baker to exacting Super Duper specifications. Travelers can also pair their burgers with addictive fresh-fired fries or garlic fries with a side of Super Sauce, house-made mayo, or chipotle for dipping.

In addition to its signature, juicy burgers and sandwiches, travelers can feast on other options including an appetizing fresh “super salad” and organic, soft serve ice cream served as a shake or in a cone, along with a variety of beer and wine offerings. Travelers with an early morning flight will be greeted with a selection of breakfast favorites such as an organic egg sandwich with bacon, sausage and avocado, house-made donuts, and Four Barrel coffee. For added convenience, Super Duper Burgers will feature a grab-and-go section so travelers can easily bring Super Duper flavor with them to the gate or on their flight.

Super Duper Burgers is aligned with San Francisco International Airport’s vision to provide good, clean, and fair food which has been responsibly sourced and deliciously prepared. Super Duper Burgers builds their restaurants just like they build their burgers: sustainably, locally, and with an unwavering commitment to quality and health. Super Duper Burgers works with local farms and suppliers – Niman Ranch, Mary’s Chicken, Straus Creamery, local designers, sign painters, and artisans- to not only reduce their carbon footprint, but to create unparalleled flavors. All Super Duper packaging is compostable.

With 10 locations in the Bay Area (and a forthcoming 11th location slated for Q2 of 2017), Super Duper Burgers has generated accolades from Business Insider (among the 50 Best Burger Joints in America); SF Weekly (Best Homegrown Burger Chain in San Francisco); Fox News (America’s Best Fast Food Shakes); and Zagat (Best Burgers in San Francisco).
In addition to the upcoming opening of Super Duper Burgers, HMSHost will continue to operate existing traveler favorites at San Francisco International Airport including Gordon Biersch, Max’s Eatz, Max’s E.V.O.O. Cafe, and three Starbucks store locations.
