HRS introduces mobile app for corporate customers

The HRS Corporate App offers features such as the hotel search based on pre-set corporate locations, maps, as well as displaying the negotiated corporate rates and their availability at the selected hotel.

HRS has announced that it is making mobile bookings even easier by introducing special features for corporate customers through its new HRS Corporate App.

The HRS Corporate App offers features such as the hotel search based on pre-set corporate locations, maps, as well as displaying the negotiated corporate rates and their availability at the selected hotel.

Meanwhile for payment, all company-specific options are available, including pre-defined payment and billing methods up to departmental level. What’s more, hotel bookings may be entered into the mobile device calendar directly.

As a result, there are numerous benefits for travel managers: mobile bookings are fully recorded meaning there are no surprises when it comes to receiving invoices. The pre-entered billing addresses increase user convenience, and therefore reduces the administrative effort. This in turn has a positive effect on the business traveller’s satisfaction and helps to increase compliance to a company’s hotel programme. As an additional bookable rate, the Mobile Special Tariff may decrease direct costs. Hotels specifically use this tariff to market remaining rooms to business travellers and last-minute bookers.

The corporate customer app is available for iOS and Android smart devices. After downloading “Hotel Search HRS” in the respective app stores, travellers can send a link to their smartphone via the company-specific Corporate Booking Portal to confirm the imported corporate settings.

HRS data shows that mobile bookings are increasing worldwide
HRS has recorded a continuous and strong growth in bookings made using smartphones and tablets globally. Compared to the first six months of 2014, HRS found that mobile bookings had increased by almost one quarter (24%) in the second half of the year. The percentage of total turnover generated by mobile bookings also showed significant growth in comparison to the previous year, with HRS reporting that one in five overnight stays is now booked via a smartphone or tablet.

“Mobile channels are a great help, especially on business trips, because last-minute changes to the schedule often call for new travel planning to take place,” explains Tobias Ragge, CEO of HRS. “With the HRS Corporate App featuring pre-stored information and specific corporate rates of importance for the business traveller, we make mobile bookings a lot easier for our customers.”

HRS attributes the growth to special booking conditions, such as the Mobile Special Tariff, which offers users of smartphones and tablets considerable price savings. They are exclusively bookable via the HRS Apps – last year, these bookings doubled in volume.

In addition, thanks to the Business Tariff and the Flex Tariff, business travellers retain flexibility because bookings can be cancelled free of charge until 6pm on the day of arrival.

Research from the hotel solutions provider also revealed that different usage of smartphones and tablets is shown in the distribution of booking days. While smartphone users usually book on Mondays, tablet users do so on Sundays. Furthermore, smartphone bookings are more last-minute and for shorter stays than reservations made via tablets. Usually, the booking is made for the very same day and for one night only, whereas tablet users book their stay more than 40 days in advance.

All useful information at a glance: Apple Watch App
Users of the Apple Watch can use many features of the HRS App, for example accessing all important hotel information for the next reservation at a glance. Furthermore, they can display a list of all active and future bookings when they are logged in as a My HRS customer on their iPhone. The smartwatch also shows the address of the booked hotel as a text or when clicking on a map. Users of the Apple Watch can also quickly find the hotel’s check-in and reception pages.
