Discovery Day, which will kick-start ibtm america on June 15th, will begin with tours for Hosted Buyers of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center followed by a networking luncheon inspired by the music culture of Nashville. The luncheon will take place in the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center’s Governors Ballroom and will include a unique team-bonding experience in the form of a songwriting activity with Lyric Crew, a group of seasoned songwriters and studio musicians, who will work with attendees to create an ibtm america theme song.

Attendees will then be split into two groups to tour Nashville’s up and coming event spaces and venues. With one group touring the Music City Center, Nashville’s newest convention centre which boasts a museum of country music as well as 90,000 sq. ft of meeting space, and the other group touring the Omni Hotel, one of Nashville’s premier luxury hotels, the two groups will meet after seeing their first venue for a cocktail reception before splitting up again to see the second venue.

Discovery Day will end with the Honky Tonk Connection at Tequila Cowboy, who in collaboration with Eventgenuity will be hosting the evening happy hour party which will offer the opportunity for a unique evening of client entertaining. Attendees will experience a true taste of Nashville at one of the city’s authentic Honky Tonks where they can enjoy live music, bull riding and traditional Southern food tastings and dancing, with buses to the hotel running late into the evening.

We are excited to have ibtm america at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. This is not only a great opportunity for Gaylord, but for the entire city as well,” said Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “We are working with Gaylord to make the stay memorable, and working with ibtm america to create a Discovery Day that will offer the chance to explore all the city has to offer. Of course, music will be integral to the entire experience and we can’t wait!

Jaime McAuley, Event Director, ibtm america commented, “Nashville is a city full of history, culture, music, and great food, and this year we wanted to provide our attendees with a truly unique and authentic experience. Having decided, based on feedback from Hosted Buyers and exhibitors, to host ibtm america in a new city each year, one of the exclusive benefits of our event is that it provides an opportunity each year for attendees to experience a new city while networking with industry peers and participating in 100% mutually matched business appointments, a first for an event of this kind in the US.
