IEG: The tourist trade world in complete safety at TTG, Regeneration! by SIA and SUN

The expos ended with over a thousand exhibitors distributed over 15 halls. It was the world’s first live appointment for tourism since the explosion of the pandemic. The replanning of one of the most hard-hit sectors thus began from Rimini Expo Centre (Italy).

RIMINI (ITALY)  – Exhilarating. Able to look to the future. A concrete edition with an innovative slant. For tourism, which has the “human” characteristic as one of its strong points, the comments from companies at TTG Travel Experience 2020 sum up a great satisfaction. The Italian Exhibition Group expo, which ended today at Rimini expo centre along with “Regeneration! by SIA” and SUN Beach & Outdoor Style – which together occupied 15 halls in which over a thousand exhibitors exhibited –  confirmed its role as the sectors’ pulsating heart, the only marketplace in which industry and trade members were able to meet and network after the stop imposed by the pandemic at global level. In fact, TTG was the first “live” event at international level in 2020, and from it the sector launched concrete signs of replanning for what will be the tourism of coming years.

The eagerly awaited  edition had a great emotional impact, even and above all in a complex economic period such as the present one. Dynamic proposals, with all the exhibitors presenting and describing cities, territories and experiences as never before. Busy, with a warm response from the professional attendees, with trade members eager to meet, and a digital platform – dedicated to the buyers from Countries from which reaching was problematic – by means of which matching with exhibitors was ensured. All in complete safety, fully respecting government regulations and following the #safebusiness by IEG protocol.

A clear message arrived from TTG: the world wants to travel to return to Italy, so the system must be supported with effective economic policies.

In fact, the travel products that will be enjoyed will no longer be those perceived as “the same as itself in time and place” but transformable, thanks to the abolition of time barriers enabled by technology.

Approximately 150 events, distributed over eight “arenas” during the three expo days and inspired by Vision 2020 “Think Human”, laid the foundations for the new objectives for 2021.

The most representative Institutions and the major trade and industry Associations participated in the expo. The Government, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage Activities and Tourism, Lorenza Bonaccorsi, the President of ENIT Giorgio Palmucci, CONI President Giovanni Malago and Federalberghi President Bernabo Bocca, as well as the Regions, along with the ENIT. Federalberghi held its 70th National Assembly. ASTOI Confindustria Viaggi and FTO Federazione Turismo Organizzato, the two most representative organizations of the tour operators, hosted areas for public meetings and discussions. The UNWTO World Tourism Organization presented the guidelines for the international restart of tourism. The Observatory of Digital Innovation in Tourism of Milan Polytechnic's School of Management presented a focus on safety, flexibility  and digitalization of tourist journeys. An entire hall was dedicated to “Sports on Vacation”, an area organized by the Emilia-Romagna Region, where the Regional Sport Commission that will work on large events was presented. In the “Regeneration! by SIA” area, space was dedicated to hospitality design, with the Design Arena conceived to share innovative solutions for the hotel industry. At SUN Beach & Outdoor Style, thanks to FAITA Federcamping, the first interuniversity research carried out on Italian seaside tourism debuted.

After the live expo appointment, TTG Travel Experience continues digitally, from 19th to  23rd October, thanks to the virtual platform that enables exhibiting companies to boost and facilitate matching with international buyers, which had already resulted in excellent feedback on the three expo days: a key channel for increasing the business of internationality.

Simultaneously, on the three days, Rimini expo centre also hosted IBE, International Bus Expo, opened by a message from the undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport. Salvatore Margiotta.

The appointment is from October 13th to 15th 2021 for the next edition of TTG Travel Experience, SIA Hospitality Design and SUN Beach&Outdoor Style.
