The International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) has announced the 2015 edition of the world’s premier global event for golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media, will be hosted on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
The largest and most populous Canary Island will welcome IGTM 2015, organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, to the Magma Conference Centre in Costa Adeje on October 5-8.
The Magma Conference Centre, opened by the King and Queen of Spain in November 2005, is located just 10 miles (17km) from Tenerife South Airport. With an infrastructure of 22,000 square metres and a unique design that interprets a volcanic eruption, the centre will provide one of IGTM’s most spectacular venues.

Carlos Alonso, President of the Tenerife Government (Cabildo), said: “Golf tourism plays a fundamental part in attracting international visitors to the island.
“By hosting IGTM, we have an unrivalled opportunity to showcase our world class golf resorts to tour operators, as well as to enhance the island’s reputation globally as an established and diverse golfing destination.”
Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said: “While climate, accessibility and having an appropriate venue is key to staging an event of this stature, one of the deciding factors behind bringing IGTM to Tenerife has been the united front displayed by all the stakeholders involved.
“More than 20 of the island’s four and five-star hotels, as well as nine golf courses and the impressive Magma Conference Centre have fully collaborated with regional government to demonstrate that Tenerife is not only ready to host IGTM but that the island as a whole is a world class destination for golfers and tourists to visit.”
