Inkaterra guides field station introduces conservation-focused itineraries for travelers to the Peruvian Amazon

The itineraries include two-, three- and four-night packages, each offering full immersion into Inkaterra’s extensive wildlife reserves.

NEW YORK – Inkaterra, a Peruvian leader in sustainable tourism and hotel development, has introduced three new conservation-focused travel itineraries for guests staying in the Inkaterra Guides Field Station, which was recently opened to the public in the Madre de Dios region of Peru. Located near the Tambopata National Reserve, the property offers travelers the opportunity to explore the reserve's tropical rainforest and participate in various conservation projects overseen by Inkaterra's NGO, the Inkaterra Asociacion (ITA), a self-funded, non-profit institution dedicated to restoring Peru's ecosystems and cultural resources.

The itineraries include two-, three- and four-night packages, each offering full immersion into Inkaterra's extensive wildlife reserves. All three itineraries include guided travel through the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve's rainforest trails, which are home to 540 bird species, 362 ant species and more than 100 mammal species.

Based on the itinerary, other activities include: excursions to the guest-favorite Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a collection of eight platforms and seven suspended bridges 100 feet above the jungle floor; canoe rides; nighttime tours of the rainforest; visits to the Inkaterra Asociacion's bio-orchard; learning about bird monitoring, rainforest restoration and conservation; and more.

Originally designed as a research location for ITA and a training camp for Inkaterra's Explorer Guides, the Field Station is equipped with four cabanas, featuring two rooms with twin beds each in one, a terrace, mosquito nets, and private bathrooms, in addition to two large pavilions, each with four shared rooms, sleeping up to four guests per room, each room with a private bathroom.
